This has been on Hiatus for almost 2 years now.

I did wear it to one con but it was half completed and looked weird. (as can be seen in the bottom two photos)

▼Need to finish the outfit.
▼Need to start on the armor.
▼Need a wig, hat, tights, shoes,sword belt
▼Pretty sure I made the top jacket wrong too.
▼I used Silver and not gold to paint on the waist coat.

All in all, it needs to be remade. But with every failed costume you learn.

It is also brown leatherette and not Black, But I needed something similar in material so that I could work out a pattern that would fall correctly.

Hinata costume test.

I finished the jacket. The hood is not as nice as I would like. I am going to likely sew it shut so it always falls the correct way.

▲Contact lenses are wonderful though I couldn’t see anything.
▲Make up test was successful though I will likely leave off the little flicks when it comes to the final version.
▼Wig feels AWFUL, though it looks ok so I will survive. I think this is the first time I’ve ever had to put so much hair under a wig.
▲Comes together otherwise ok.

A little hint here
Something I never knew until now; If your contact lenses stick or slip when you blink. Try turning them inside out.

Apparently this happens when the lens is inside out. You can tell by looking (apparently the lens should not flare at the ends) though I could not see this as easily as just putting them in and seeing.

I always wondered what this was caused by, I must say though, this is only the second time I have encountered it. So yes! good info for you there.

Some progress to my Akatsuki coat that I totally forgot to upload and now the things nearly finished.

So, Some background to this coat; I previously made this and screwed it up (It was previously for a Deidara costume rather then Tobi this time). The lining was half finished. The Hemming was a mess and the clouds were half held on.

What has been done now:

Tidied up the clouds and embroided them onto the coat rather then stitching
Lined the coat correctly
Took in the back and straitened the collar

So today I got my contact lenses through for my Hinata costume....

So today I got my contact lenses through for my Hinata costume.

There are many choices of contact lenses out there and you can buy specific byakugan lenses. Though the one thing that REALLY annoys me is that other then that specific pair they will all have pupil holes (obviously, else you cannot see)

As I am doing Anime Hinata I decided to go for the lilac eyes and try to find a pair that cover the entire pupil at the very least from far away in photographs they will look far better then my regular eyes (which are blue grey, not green as the reflection from my room seems to show there)

I tried one in quickly to see how bad they were to see through and they are actually ok and my pupils are very dilated due to the light of the room so I imagine when I am in daylight.

I think they look pretty good and probably better when they are combined with a costume and I have make up on (my skin has been photoshopped to hell there. But the eye remained unaltered for my own reference)

The site I bought these from : Foureyez. Also gave me a free one day wear pair of blue lenses! I shall try those out when I need to wear them and let people know…

The price was reasonable, considering what I normally pay (my blue Deidara ones were about the same price)

I’ll write up a proper review when I have worn them in daylight.

Shipping = 10/10 Good Price, fast and well packaged
Quality = so far 10/10. They have a life of a Year.
Comfort = Shall see
Vision = shall see in daylight.

One of the costumes I plan to do next year is Hinata from Naruto Shippuden

As I don’t have the material yet I decided to test my jumper pattern out by making myself a new hoodie!

There are a few things that will need altering before the final outfit, but this is good enough to wear as a proper jumper (and it’s lined too)

Alterations for the final one:
- No pocket (of course)
- Cuffs on sleeves
- No bottom turnover
- Seams in the hood and second seams on the arms
- Hood needs to be altered slightly as it is too bulky at the back.
- Ensure lining is matching (as it’s uneven in this, but still wearable)
